They have headlined at venues all over London including Sound
in Leicester square, The Borderline, The Ocean in Hackney, The Kings Head in Fulham, The
Half Moon in Putney, The Cartoon in Croydon and more. Gran Cassa have recently been
performing around Surrey at places such as the University of Surrey in Guildford, The
Dorking Halls, The Guildford Civic Hall, Reigate Priory Park for the Queens jubilee, The
Harlequin Theatre in Redhill, The Tumbledown Dick in Farnborough and GuilFest 2002. Gran
Cassa are dedicated to bringing UK hip hop to the live stage with a burst of funk. The
whole UK hip hop scene is underrated, mostly because people have never heard it and think
there isn't one. Gran Cassa play in venues where those who may never have heard someone
rap with an English accent, can discover it. The added power of a monster six-piece funk
band and onstage antics also adds to the show. The tunes are originals, such as "Mum
Never Cooked Me Sushi", "In the Year of the Dragon", "R.I.C.E",
"The Fugawi Tribe", " Party Policies", "Cue Ball",
"Angels with Dirty Faces", "Sickbay Stadium", "We Love
Ladies", "Don't Like Living in a Pig Sty", "Publicans Ball" and a
whole host of other jump around compositions. |
